About
In November 2011, I spent the first of three weeks as an artist-in-residence sponsored by Hancher Auditorium at the University of Iowa. The idea of the residency was for me to work with young students in school music programs all over the state. I returned for a week in February 2012 and again in April when I performed a concert with my group from New York. The residency provided a wonderful opportunity for me, a New Yorker and native New Englander who went to college in Texas, to learn more about the Great Midwest. I decided to chronicle my experiences in the best way a musician knows how, by writing music that reflected my journey. Through this music I hope to take you with me on that same journey……Dave
